Link Building Using Blogs
Every blog owner, including myself, has to deal with a certain degree of comment spam. But used properly, blog comments can add value to a blog while helping you to build quality backlinks and traffic.
There are search engines specifically designed to locate “do follow” blogs that pass pagerank. Instead of jumping on the same train and following these people, let’s look at some search phrases that can be used to find niche specific blogs that are not saturated.
At Google, try the following search phrases. Replace KW with your chosen keyword.
KW ”Remember my personal information” “Notify me of follow-up comments.”
KW “login with your username and password below. New user?”
KW “You must be logged in to post a comment”
KW “Add comment”
KW “Add a comment”
KW “Add your comment”
KW “Leave comment”
KW “Leave a comment”
KW “Leave your comment”
KW “Comment Preview”
KW “Subscribe to entry”
KW “Your email address will not be published”
KW “One response so far”
KW “No responses yet”
KW “2 responses so far”
KW “Post comment”
KW “Post a comment”
KW “Leave a reply”
KW “Click here to post a comment”
KW “RSS feed for comments on this post”
KW “Leave your comment”
KW “Leave a comment”
KW “Comment by”
KW “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail”
KW “register to submit a comment”
KW “reply to this comment”
KW “You may use < a href=”" mce_href=”" title =”"> in your comment”
KW “HTML allowed: <a href=”" mce_href=”" title”" rel”">”
KW “HTML allowed: <a href=”" mce_href=”" title”" ”
KW “report this comment”
KW “post a new comment”
KW “add a new comment”
KW “leave a new comment”
KW “Comment No.”
KW “Posted by”
KW “Type the two words”
KW “please do not click submit more than once”
KW “Subscribe without commenting”
The first search phrase in this list appears to generate the most useful results for my niche.
Even posting comments on no follow blogs does have value, but I won’t get into the no follow debate in this post. Most agree that any link can be worthwhile for traffic generation. And commenting on targeted blogs will allow you to reach a targeted audience.
Before blog owners bash me, I want to stipulate that blogs are not good places to blanket your links at. Trying to just post as many links as possible without contributing something will result in your comments/links being deleted. If you spend some time at each blog and read their posts, chances are you can write a worthwhile response that won’t get deleted. And who knows, you might actually like their blog and return often.

I like they way you query! Searching like that does is definitely more efficient. Thanks for the tips! Using google’s advanced search features also provides other search attributes that may be just as useful!
